Team di Mont

C.A.M.P. – TEAM DI MONT

The Giir di Mont organizing committee is excited to announce that, following the 2019 introduction, the “Team di Mont” award will return this year!

This “race within the race” is a challenge designed to show that EVERY ATHLETE IN PREMANA IS A PROTAGONIST.

Overview

The TEAM DI MONT is an additional team ranking within the GIIR DI MONT 32Km and is fully governed by the official rules of the race. All participants in the team competition will also compete individually in the GIIR DI MONT 32Km.

Who Can Participate

This challenge is aimed at athletes who are not competing for the top positions in the general ranking. It gives all participants a chance to compete as a team and possibly take part in the awards ceremony, even if they are not among the top individual finishers.

How It Works

To participate, teams must be registered in advance. Teams can be mixed and must consist of 5 members, all of whom are already registered for the Giir di Mont 32Km. While team members will compete normally in the race, their individual placements will also contribute to the team ranking. For detailed scoring rules, please refer to the official regulations.

The rules are available below, and to register, please complete the form with all your team details (registration for the Giir di Mont 32Km is required first).

GIIR DI MONT – TEAM DI MONT 2025 RULES

INTRODUCTION

The TEAM DI MONT team competition is considered a supplementary ranking within the GIIR DI MONT 32Km and is fully subject to the rules of the aforementioned race. Anyone deciding to take part in the team competition will also compete individually in the GIIR DI MONT 32Km.

HOW IT WORKS

  • Teams, including mixed-gender teams, will compete in groups of 5 runners.

  • Each team must be composed of athletes properly registered for the GIIR DI MONT 32Km, according to the race rules and restrictions.

  • Competitors will participate in the GIIR DI MONT 32Km normally, while the team challenge will be determined via a points-based ranking, prepared by the organization after the race, according to the criteria outlined in the “RANKING AND SCORING” section below.

  • A team’s score will only be calculated when at least 4 of the 5 members achieve a valid score, based on the criteria outlined in the “RANKING AND SCORING” section.

  • The top 3 teams (a total of 15 athletes) will be awarded during the GIIR DI MONT awards ceremony, alongside the individual competition winners.

RANKING AND SCORING

Points will be assigned as follows:

  1. Athletes finishing in the top 10 overall and/or top 5 female in the GIIR DI MONT 32Km will not receive valid points for the Team di Mont competition.

  2. Only the first 4 finishers of a team crossing the Premana finish line (excluding athletes in point 1) will generate valid points for the team ranking.

  3. Only teams with at least 4 valid scoring athletes will be included in the team ranking.

  4. An athlete’s overall position determines the points awarded to that team member. For example, if Mario Rossi from the “Runners for Passion” team finishes 50th overall, the team receives 50 points for him.

  5. For mixed-gender teams, the last female team member to score a valid point will use her position in the female ranking instead of the overall ranking. Example: if Sofia Bianchi and Serena Verdi are 3rd and 4th scoring members, finishing 100th and 150th overall but 10th and 12th in the female ranking, the team’s score will be 100 + 12 points.

  6. For all-female teams, the 3rd and 4th finishing members will use their female ranking positions instead of the overall ranking. Example: if Sofia Bianchi, Serena Verdi, Paola Neri, and Lucia Rosa finish 100th, 150th, 200th, and 250th overall but 10th, 12th, 16th, and 23rd in the female ranking, the team score will be 100 + 150 + 16 + 23 points.

  7. The total team score is the sum of the individual scores, according to the rules above.

  8. The team ranking is in ascending order: the team with the lowest total points from its first 4 valid scoring members is declared the Team di Mont winner.

  9. The top 3 teams will be awarded on the podium during the GIIR DI MONT ceremony.

TIME LIMITS

Participation in Team di Mont is subject to the GIIR DI MONT 32Km rules. The time gates are located at Alpe Vegessa (Km 9, 2h 15’) and Solino (Km 25, 5h 15’).

Athletes not passing these gates in time must abandon the GIIR DI MONT 32Km race and will not receive points for the Team di Mont competition.

Additionally, to allow for the awards ceremony alongside the 32Km and Mini 20Km awards, the maximum finishing time is 7 hours.
